It’s the dog days of summer and everyone is getting restless here! I have created a word search filled with doggie breeds and essentials. Sure to please the dog-lover in everyone.

“Transformers, more than meets the eye!” We went to see the Transformers movie on Friday and while I don’t recommend it for younger kids, it was a good movie! The robots are just so cool! I have created a maze where you help Optimus Prime transform from a robot into a truck by making your way through the maze.

The Ratatouille (rat-a-too-ee) movie is getting rave reviews and we hope to get to the movies some time this week to see it. In the mean time, I was checking out the Disney site and found this wonderful, 19-page, printable activity book of Ratatouille fun! I can’t seem to grab the direct link, but it is under downloads.
If you happen to have a Young Chef’s Academy near by, they are featuring Ratatouille themed activities, parties, and plenty of prizes. YCA is also a partner in “The Big Cheese Tour” – an interactive experience highlighted by games, cooking demonstrations, “making-of” kiosks, and more – including a chance to slide down a 25′ cheese slide!
Grocery Cart Math
Make grocery shopping into a fun, learning experience for your kids! Use the printable worksheet to estimate common item prices before arriving at the store. Once there, have your kids do the research and find out the real prices for the grocery items. Then get those math skills working as you calculate the difference between the estimated price and the real price.

Thomas the Tank Engine
When my son was younger, he could not get enough of Thomas the Tank Engine! We had all the movies, we still have a HUGE bin of track and trains, and we had countless books. Even though he has now moved on to the big boys electrical trains, there will always be a special place for Thomas in our family.
I just discovered a fun new site for all the information you could ever want on Thomas the Tank Engine called Time for Thomas. They also have a whole page of free Thomas and Friends coloring pages.
Here are some addition Thomas the Tank Engine resources:
- Thomas the Tank Games, Puzzles, Party Supplies and Costumes
- Riley & Drew’s Thomas the Tank Engine Site
- Randomhouse Publishing Thomas the Tank Engine Activity Page
- Robert’s Thomas and Friends clip art
- HIT Entertainment’s Thomas Coloring pages
All Aboard!
