John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, was born on September 26, 1774. He dedicated his life to the planting of apple trees – mostly in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Ohio. He loved the outdoors, wore a tin pot for a hat, and was friendly to everyone he met! The only time he was ever sick was in 1845 – when he died. Maybe an apple a day really does keep the doctor away!
We have created a color-by-number activity in honor of Johnny Appleseed for you to use in your classroom lessons or just for fun!
